PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BUYMYTHOUGHTS LTD (“buymythoughts”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information when you use the buymythoughts app or visit our website.

We keep things deliberately simple. We do not run advertising, sell personal information, use analytics or tracking technologies on the buymythoughts website, or require you to create an account to use the app.

1. Who we are

BUYMYTHOUGHTS LTD is a company registered in England and Wales.

Company number: 17442418

Registered office:
124 City Road
London
EC1V 2NX
United Kingdom

Email: info@buymythoughts.com

For data protection purposes, BUYMYTHOUGHTS LTD is the controller of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.

If you have any questions about how we handle your information, or want to exercise your data protection rights, you can contact us at info@buymythoughts.com.

2. What information we handle

The information we handle depends on how you interact with buymythoughts.

When you buy something in the app

buymythoughts uses Apple App Store or Google Play to process payments, depending on where you download the app.

We do not receive or store your payment card details.

We also use RevenueCat to manage and validate purchases within the app. RevenueCat may process information such as:

  • an anonymous app/customer identifier;
  • information about your device and operating system;
  • information about your purchase;
  • transaction information;
  • information relating to the app being used; and
  • technical information associated with requests to RevenueCat.

We do not create a buymythoughts account for you and we do not ask you to provide your name, phone number or email address in order to use the app.

Information stored on your device

The app stores certain information locally on your device so that it can remember things such as which thoughts you have unlocked and maintain the app's functionality.

This can include information relating to your unlocked thoughts, the current app state and transaction information used to prevent the same purchase from unlocking more than one thought.

This information is stored locally by the app rather than in a buymythoughts user account or buymythoughts database.

If you uninstall the app or clear its local app data, this locally stored information may be deleted.

When you contact us

If you email info@buymythoughts.com, we will receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include in your message.

We use this information to:

  • respond to your enquiry;
  • provide customer support;
  • investigate and resolve problems;
  • deal with complaints; and
  • maintain an appropriate record of our communications where reasonably necessary.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for your enquiry.

3. Why we use your information

We use personal information only for purposes connected with operating buymythoughts, including providing the app, processing purchases, maintaining the app and responding to enquiries.

The lawful bases we rely on are:

Performance of a contract

We rely on performance of a contract where processing is necessary to provide the service you have purchased, including processing information necessary to validate your purchase and provide access to the purchased content.

Legitimate interests

We rely on legitimate interests where necessary to operate and protect our services, respond to customer enquiries, investigate problems, prevent misuse and maintain appropriate records.

When relying on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and whether our interests are balanced against your rights and interests.

We do not use your personal information for marketing purposes.

4. Who we share information with

We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate buymythoughts.

These include:

  • Apple — where you download or purchase through the Apple App Store.
  • Google — where you download or purchase through Google Play.
  • RevenueCat — to manage and validate in-app purchases.
  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers — to host and securely deliver our website.

These providers process information only as necessary for the services they provide.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising.

5. International transfers

Some of the service providers we use may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

For example, RevenueCat's services may involve processing personal information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, RevenueCat's current Data Processing Addendum incorporates the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for relevant restricted transfers.

Where appropriate, we use the safeguards required by applicable data protection law for international transfers.

You can contact us at info@buymythoughts.com if you would like further information about the safeguards applicable to a particular transfer.

6. How long we keep information

We do not keep personal information indefinitely.

The length of time information is retained depends on what it is and why we need it.

Information stored locally by the app remains on your device until it is cleared, deleted by the app or removed when you uninstall the app, subject to how your device and operating system manage app data.

Support emails and related correspondence are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your enquiry, provide support, resolve any issue and maintain an appropriate record of the interaction. We will delete it when it is no longer needed, unless we have a legitimate reason or legal obligation to retain it for longer.

Technical information generated by website hosting and infrastructure providers, such as security and operational logs, is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, in accordance with the retention practices of the relevant providers.

Where third-party providers process information on our behalf, their own retention and deletion processes may also apply.

7. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you have rights under UK data protection law including the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your personal information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information;
  • object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
  • ask for certain information to be provided in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent as our lawful basis.

These rights are not absolute and some exceptions can apply.

To exercise your rights, contact us at info@buymythoughts.com.

We may need to ask for information necessary to confirm the identity of the person making a request. We will only request information that is reasonably necessary for this purpose.

If your request relates to information processed by one of our service providers, we may need to work with that provider to respond to your request.

8. Website cookies and tracking

Our buymythoughts website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, tracking pixels, session-recording tools or similar tracking technologies.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar advertising or behavioural tracking services.

Our website may generate standard technical information through its hosting and infrastructure, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps, where necessary to deliver, secure and maintain the website.

9. Automated decision-making

We do not use your personal information to make decisions about you using automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

10. Children's privacy

buymythoughts is not directed specifically at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of creating accounts or profiles. The app does not require users to create an account or provide personal information to use it.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time if the way we operate buymythoughts changes, if our service providers change, or if applicable legal requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

We will not introduce a new use of personal information that is materially different from what is described here without updating this Privacy Policy and providing any additional information required by applicable law.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at:

info@buymythoughts.com

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Wycliffe House

The ICO recommends that privacy information explains people's rights and tells them about their right to complain to the ICO.
